Built around a fully directional shape with a directional flex and set back camber, the Frontier gives you all the performance advantages you get from riding a directional board. However, by giving it a more playful, slightly softer tail, Jones takes much of the aggression out of the board. This innovative flex pattern transforms the Frontier from being just a board for charging around the piste and pow into something that’s a lot more rider-friendly that you can strap into and ride absolutely everything on the mountain.

Shape Overview

The Frontiers directional shape is engineered to create a versatile ride across the whole mountain. Its innovative Blunt Nose Profile allows the nose to rise quickly in deep snow, while the Traction Tech 2.0 adds multiple contact points to the sidecut, ensuring that the Frontier feels locked in on even the iciest terrain. However, the secret to the Frontier’s outstanding performance is the freestyle inspired tail. This softer flexing tail gives the board a more freestyle friendly slant, plus it also creates a more playful overall ride delivering a versatile freeride board that you don’t need to push hard to get the most out of it.

Profile

The freeride inspired Directional Rocker combines an extended rocker zone at the nose with camber between the feet and a shorter rocker at the tail. This profile allows the board to float effortlessly in deep snow while still delivering a responsive and dynamic ride on hardpack terrain.

That shorter rocker at the tail helps create a more responsive and stable feel at the back of the board while still retaining a more playful catch-free ride.

3D Contour Base 1.0

The Frontier features the unique Spoon-3D base. This advanced design bevels the base at the tip and tail to reduce friction at the contact points. This not only smooths out turn initiation and exit, but it also adds additional float while increasing the overall riding stability.

Internals

Heading up the Frontiers, high-quality construction is the durable yet lightweight Classic Core. This premium poplar wood core delivers the perfect balance of performance, pop, flex and strength and is the ideal foundation for the Frontiers versatile ride. Now as Jones wanted to keep this board a little bit more playful, it utilises softer flexing Bi-Ax glass structural layers. These allow the board to flex both lengthwise and torsionally a little easier and are crucial to delivering that unique, playful freeride feel.

Base

To ensure the Frontier delivers the optimum performance, it utilises a super-fast 8000 Sintered base. Factory waxed with Wend Natural wax it provides excellent glide in all conditions.
